Barnegat, Stafford Schools Locked Down Lifted, Arrest Made In Double Homicide

Lockdowns were lifted at schools in Barnegat and Stafford townships following an arrest made in a double homicide, authorities said.

UPDATE: Michael Mulgrew has been charged with killing both of his parents, who were found dead in the home prompting a lockdown of nearby schools on Thursday, Nov. 2.

It wasn't clear when exactly the double killing took place, as the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said only that a suspect was in custody in connection with a double homicide on Lincoln Avenue in Barnegat Township.

Lincoln Avenue is located three blocks from Barnegat High School.

Barnegat police noted the lockdowns had to do with an unidentified "outside incident.
